Available Positions

Job description

Provide medical care to our patients under the supervision of a physician/PA.
Evaluate symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients by maintaining close contact with them.
Assist in patient education.
Assist physician during treatment and examination of the patient.
Administer medication and treatments as ordered by the physician

NOTE: Operations hours for clinics in Jacksonville /Melbourne/Port St. Lucie are:

2:30 pm-11:00 pm on weekdays, and 10:30 am-11:00 pm on weekends.

Hours for locations in Central Florida are 3:30 pm- Midnight weekdays, and 11:30 am-Midnight weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise including triaging and taking history utilizing EMR.
  • Document all phone recommendations to patients.
  • Input prescriptions as ordered and written by the physician.
  • Submit timely through sure scripts if available.
  • Make appointments for patients as ordered by the physician.
  • Retrieve or accept the results of the test.
  • Notify patients of abnormal lab results. Make nursing judgments as needed.
  • Order medical, laboratory, and radiology supplies on a routine basis and keeps a good inventory of consumables. Verifies that the nurse station and exam rooms are stocked.
  • Facilitate patient flow. (Throughput)
  • Follow up on patients with missed appointments where the welfare of the patient requires immediate medical attention or follow-up.
  • Reports communicable diseases to infection control agencies as required.
  • Administer medications including injections.
  • Start IVs give updraft treatments to assist with suturing, casting, etc.
  • Take patient’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and weight, and records results on the patient’s chart. Performs venipuncture as ordered by the physician.
  • Prepare specimens and requisitions for reference laboratory
  • Perform and run laboratory tests as ordered by the physician and following proper laboratory and office policies complied with office policy & procedure for OSHA/HIPPA standard
  • Ensure nursing staff complies with OSHA/HIPPA policies & procedures.
  • Keep track of inventory control on the computer
  • Perform and documents QC and QA in a timely manner
  • Compile with CLIA/COLA policies & procedures.
  • Startup lab daily i.e. CBC machine, I-STAT machine.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

A graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing / Paramedic and currently registered with State Board. Medical office with Emergency Room experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Clinical application of nursing knowledge.
  • Demonstrate patience and tact in dealing with patients and their families.
  • Use sound judgment in recognizing adverse reactions to treatment.

Night Lite Pediatrics has an immediate opening for a Patient Service Associate position.

We are looking for a detailed oriented individual to answer phone calls, greet patients with enthusiasm as they come in, handle insurance coding and billing account responsibilities, as well as support the operations of the office.

NOTE: The full-time position hours are 3:30 pm-midnight weekdays and 11:30 am-midnight weekends. The position requires working 2 weekends a month.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Check-in and register all walk-in patients.
  • Collects co-pays, insurance deductibles, and coinsurance.
  • Answers incoming phone calls, taking messages as appropriate.
  • Provides general information as requested
  • Receives all over-the-counter payments.
  • Enter charges, verify coverage, balancing cash-checks-CC at the end of each workday while utilizing EMR (electronic medical record) system.
  • Balances charges and payments, as well as post/, verifies charges with daily report.
  • Performs daily auditing of front desk charges.
  • Audits EMR medical records to ensure procedures match at the end of the work shift and/or when needed.
  • Ensures special codes are entered in EMR for back staff such as Self Pay, Aetna, BCBS, etc.
  • Prepares recap and census sheets as required by management with no discrepancies.
  • Prepares medical records for faxing electronically via EMR to PCP office before the end of shift.
  • Performs daily reconciliation of payments and adjustment posted against the sign-in sheet, and MicroMD correcting any discrepancies prior to the daily close including batched credit card balancing.
  • Reviews EMR pending charges.
  • Check faxes throughout the work shift and distributes them to the appropriate department

Qualifications Required

  • At least a High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of front office experience in a medical office
  • Must type at least 50 wpm.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ICD10 codes
  • Good command of the English language including verbal and written
  • Prior experience using MS Outlook including Word and Excel programs.
  • Ability to compute mathematical calculations

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates patience and tact in dealing with patients and families.
  • Ability to effectively handle patient-related issues with care and compassion

  • Ability to obtain and analyze facts and apply sound judgment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant
  • Assists patients any time need is apparent or as directed by supervisory staff
  • Performs medical assistant and radiological procedures
  • Assists the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms; taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients
  • Assist provider in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required
  • Performs x-rays as directed by the provider
  • Gives instructions to patients as instructed by a provider
  • Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by a physician
  • Keeps medical records in accordance with procedures and forms
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality
  • Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required
  • Clean wounds, perform labs, apply dressings and splints as directed by the provider
  • Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of a provider and for which training has been given.
  • Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results and give medications prescribed by the doctor
  • Receives and handles phone calls
  • Responsible for inventory, proper handling, and storage of all medications stored in the office

  • State of Florida x-ray license
  • Medical office experience preferred.
