Today, Night Lite Pediatrics is providing testing at our clinic’s curbside for young patients with any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (the coronavirus). As an urgent care clinic, we can provide immediate testing, and the test we have is a rapid viral test with same-day results. You can call us or visit us today for COVID-19 testing for pediatric patients near Apopka, FL.
Who should be tested for COVID-19?
At Night Lite Pediatrics, we can see young patients from newborns to young adults 21 years old. If your child has been at risk of exposure, regardless of whether your child has symptoms, we can evaluate your child and provide a test if necessary.
If my child doesn’t have any symptoms, should my child still be tested?
If you believe your child may have been exposed to the coronavirus, you can speak with us or visit us and we’ll help you determine the best course of action.
What are the tests for COVID-19?
There are two types of tests available with our clinic. One is the COVID-19 molecular test, also known as the RT-PCR test, and it’s a nasal swab test with results available within several days. This test is more sensitive than the second test; this second test is the rapid COVID-19 antigen test, and it’s also a nasal swab, but it offers same-day results.
How long does it take to get test results?
With the COVID-19 molecular test, results are available in between 7 to 10 days. With the rapid COVID-19 antigen test, results are available within 1 or 2 hours.
How accurate are the tests for COVID-19?
The COVID-19 molecular test is the most commonly used and most reliable test for COVID-19. However, the rapid COVID-19 antigen test correlates with the molecular test 96% of the time. Both tests are very accurate, and the one you decide on for your child may depend on the advice we provide you with at our clinic or how quickly you want results.
How much does COVID-19 testing cost with insurance?
All insurances cover COVID-19 testing for suspected patients, patients under observation, or patients potentially exposed to the virus. For screening through private insurance, some services are subject to copays, coinsurances, or deductibles.
How much does COVID-19 testing cost with no insurance?
The government will pay for fully uninsured patients. At Night Lite Pediatrics, we participate in the government’s CARES Act which allows uninsured patients to get tested for the coronavirus. You will be required to provide us with a photo ID and sign an affidavit stating you do not have insurance.
Can I bring my child in for just a COVID-19 test?
Yes, and no referrals are required.
Do I need to make an appointment for the COVID-19 test?
No appointment is necessary in order for your child to get tested. You can come visit us in-person for a curbside test.
Are all Night Lite Pediatrics locations providing COVID-19 testing?
Yes, all of our locations are offering testing, so you can come to the clinic nearest you. Please see our Locations page for our addresses, hours of operation, and contact information.
What safety precautions are you taking?
The precautions we’re taking are as follows:
- We encourage parents to register online before their visit with us
- Every child over the age of 2 and every parent must wear a face mask when entering our facilities; we are happy to provide a mask if necessary
- If your child is over 2 years old and having an upper respiratory issue or difficulty breathing, please let us know immediately
- We allow only one parent to accompany a child; this can help to reduce exposure
- We limit the time our patients spend in our facilities by encouraging them to wait in their vehicle until it’s time to be seen by a professional
- Our medical personnel wear personal protective equipment when we evaluate and test our patients
- Our exam rooms and equipment are sanitized between each visit
What should I expect when I bring my child in for a COVID-19 test?
Both the COVID-19 molecular test and the rapid COVID-19 antigen test are nasal swabs. We provide the swabs at our clinic’s curbside to protect you and your child from potential exposure to the virus, and to protect our other patients and our staff. Please understand that test quantities and supplies are limited. At our clinic, we perform dozens of tests each day on a first-come-first-serve basis, and due to high demand, there may be a wait time of 2 to 3 hours.
