At Night Lite Pediatrics’ many locations, we’re providing testing at our curbside for young patients exhibiting any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (the coronavirus). We’re an urgent care clinic, so we’re able to provide testing right on the spot with same-day results. You’re welcome to call us or come visit us today for COVID-19 testing for pediatric patients near Kissimmee, FL.
Should I have my child tested for the coronavirus?
If you believe your child may have been exposed to the virus, and even if your child isn’t having any symptoms, you can have your child evaluated and/or tested at our clinic. Night Lite Pediatrics can see young patients, including newborns, or young adult patients, including those up to age 21.
Should my child get tested even if they don’t have any symptoms?
If you suspect your child could have the virus, then speak with us or come see us so we can help you decide whether your child should be tested.
How do you test for the coronavirus?
Actually, there are two ways of testing for the virus. One is with the COVID-19 molecular test, also known as the RT-PCR test. The test is a nasal swab that offers results within several days. The other test is the rapid COVID-19 antigen test, which is also a swab. This test isn’t quite as precise as the molecular test, but it does provide results same-day.
How long do coronavirus test results take?
With the COVID-19 molecular test, the results become available in about 7 to 10 days, and with the rapid COVID-19 antigen test, the results become available in about 1 to 2 hours.
How accurate are the tests for the coronavirus?
The COVID-19 molecular test is the most common type of test because it’s the most reliable one. However, the rapid COVID-19 antigen test has a 96% rate of correlation with the molecular test, so it’s almost as accurate, and it’s much quicker too. Both tests are reliable and accurate.
With insurance, how much does COVID-19 testing cost?
All insurances will cover the cost of the test for patients suspected to have the virus, patients under observation, or patients possibly exposed to the virus. With screening through private insurance, some services may be subject to copays, coinsurances, or deductibles.
Without insurance, how much does testing cost?
Because of the government’s CARES Act, patients who are fully uninsured can still be tested for the virus, and this testing will be covered. The patients must bring us a valid photo ID and sign an affidavit stating that they don’t have insurance.
Can I bring my child in for a COVID-19 test only?
Yes, you certainly can. A referral is not necessary.
Do I need to make an appointment to be tested?
No, an appointment isn’t necessary. You can come visit us in-person for testing, and we’ll provide the test at our clinic’s curbside.
Are all of your clinic locations providing testing?
Yes, all of our clinic locations can provide testing. Please visit our Locations page to find the location nearest you, and for our locations’ addresses, hours of operation, and contact information.
Is Night Lite Pediatrics taking safety precautions?
Yes, we absolutely are taking the necessary precautions which include:
- Encouraging parents to register with our clinic online before visiting us
- Allowing just one parent to accompany their child (this can help to minimize potential exposure)
- Asking that parents and their children over 2 years old wear a face mask when they visit us; we are able to provide a mask if necessary
- If your child is older than 2 and having any upper respiratory issues or any trouble breathing, please let us know upon arrival
- Limiting how long our patients are inside our facilities by encouraging them to wait in their vehicle instead of inside our clinic
- Wearing personal protective equipment for the evaluations and testing of our patients
- Sanitizing our exam rooms and equipment in preparation for each visit
What should I expect when I come to your clinic?
Testing is relatively simple because the two tests are both nasal swabs. We’ll provide your child with a test if necessary, and we’ll do it at our clinic’s curbside in order to protect you, your child, our other patients, and our staff from potential exposure to the virus. Please understand that our tests are limited in supply, provided on a first-come-first-serve basis, and may have some wait times of up to 3 hours. Thank you for your understanding.
