Here at Night Lite Pediatrics, we’re providing curbside testing for young patients with the symptoms associated with the coronavirus (COVID-19). As an urgent care clinic, we’re able to provide this testing right away with same-day results. If you believe your child should be tested, you can call us or come see us today for rapid COVID-19 testing for pediatric patients near Oak Ridge, FL.
Should my child get tested for the coronavirus?
If you suspect your child has been exposed to the virus, even if your child isn’t experiencing any of the symptoms of infection, you can still come into our clinic for evaluation and/or testing. At Night Lite Pediatrics, we can see patients as young as newborns and as old as 21.
Should my child get tested even if they don’t have any symptoms?
If, for whatever reason, you think your child could have been exposed to the virus, you can speak with us or come see us so we can help you decide whether your child should be tested.
What are the current tests for COVID-19?
Currently, there are actually two tests for the virus. The most common and accurate test is the COVID-19 molecular (RT-PCR) test. It’s a nasal swab test with results available after several days. The other test is almost as reliable, offers results in only a couple of hours, and is also a nasal swab test. This test is the rapid COVID-19 antigen test.
Are the COVID-19 tests accurate?
Yes, they are. The COVID-19 molecular test is the most reliable one, so it’s also the most common test, but the rapid COVID-19 antigen test is almost as reliable, as it has a 96% rate of correlation with the molecular test. The rapid test is much quicker too.
How long does it take to get results from a coronavirus test?
If your child gets the COVID-19 molecular test, the results will be available in 7 to 10 days. If your child gets the rapid COVID-19 antigen test, the results will be available in about 1 to 2 hours.
Without insurance, how much does the COVID-19 test cost?
Under the government’s CARES Act, patients who are fully uninsured can still get tested for the virus, and their tests will be covered. For testing at our clinic, these patients must bring a valid photo ID and sign an affidavit stating they don’t have any insurance.
With insurance, how much does the COVID-19 test cost?
All health insurances cover testing for patients suspected to have the virus, under observation, or possibly exposed to COVID-19. With screening through private insurance, certain services may be subject to copays, coinsurances, or deductibles.
Can I bring my child into your clinic for just a COVID-19 test?
Yes, you can do this, no problem, and you won’t need a referral.
Should I make an appointment?
It’s not necessary to make an appointment with us, so you can come see us in-person to have your child tested at our clinic’s curbside.
Do all of your clinic locations provide testing?
Yes, all of our locations provide testing for COVID-19. Come see us at the location closest to you. You can find that location on our Locations page.
What are the safety precautions your clinic is taking?
At each of our locations, we’re:
- Preregistering parents online in order to minimize the time they and their children have to spend in our facility, which can minimize potential exposure (please call us to preregister)
- Allowing only one parent to accompany their child, which can also minimize potential exposure
- Encouraging patients to wait in their vehicle instead of waiting in our facility, which can minimize potential exposure as well
- Asking parents and their children over 2 years old to wear a face mask when entering our facility; if necessary, our staff can provide a mask
- If your child is over 2 years old and having upper respiratory or breathing issues, please let us know about this when you come see us
- Wearing personal protective equipment when we perform our evaluations and tests
- Sanitizing our exam rooms and equipment before each and every patient visit
What should I expect upon arrival at your clinic?
You can expect the test we provide to be simple, as it’s only a nasal swab. Testing will be done at our clinic’s curbside in order to protect you, your child, our other patients, and our staff. Also, we ask that you understand that tests are limited in supply, provided on a first-come-first-serve basis, and may have wait times of an hour, two hours, or three. Thank you for your understanding.
