What Does Rapid COVID-19 Testing Involve?
At Night Lite Pediatrics, we offer two types of tests for patients who need COVID-19 testing in Melbourne, Florida.
- Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test
A Rapid COVID-19 antigen test gives results in as little as an hour so you get same-day results. When you bring your child for a COVID-19 antigen test, a nasal swab will be taken by our friendly staff for testing. This process is quick and we ensure that it is as comfortable as possible for your child.
This test can be used for both symptomatic cases and cases where your child does not have overt symptoms.
- The Covid-19 PCR /Molecular Test
The PCR test is the most reliable COVID-19 test available. When conducting this test, our team will take a nasal swab from the patient which is then sent to the lab for testing. Unlike an antigen test, COVID-19 PCR test results can take up to 3-5 days.
The PCR test is highly accurate in detecting an active COVID-19 infection including variants like Omicron and Delta.
Referrals are Not Necessary
You do not need a referral to bring your child for rapid COVID-19 testing at our urgent care clinics. We welcome walk-ins and have a simple online procedure that you can also use to schedule an arrival time.
