Night Lite Pediatrics (NLP) is pleased to announce their inaugural, “Asthma & Allergy Awareness Event” to be held on Saturday, September 8th from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will take place at Apopka, Kissimmee/St. Cloud, Jacksonville and Port St Lucie locations. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the symptoms associated with asthma and to provide families in the community with the resources needed to combat this disease.

Asthma is a significant problem nationwide, and many asthma symptoms in children are often overlooked or misdiagnosed. Itis the leading chronic disease affecting children today. In fact, children under five, which is NLP’s main patient demographic, are 80% more likely to develop asthmatic symptoms.

“We are so excited to be hosting this free event to increase asthma awareness and the resources available for families. While there is no cure for asthma, we hope this initiative will move our community and healthcare providers in the right direction”, said Galo Palacio, Event Coordinator.

This event is open to all community members and will feature asthma and allergy education from local health organizations, health screenings, food, giveaways and other fun-filled activities. Prizes for raffle and contest winners will include nebulizers.
