Is an urgent care or walk-in clinic visit cheaper than the emergency room?
Getting treatment and medical services at an urgent care is always much more affordable than medical visits at an emergency room, which can cost patients upwards to $1,000. The average cost of going to an emergency room is around $1,318, and that is without any additional services such as MRIs or any needed X-rays.
When your child is in need of urgent medical treatment, but you do not feel like accruing an expensive medical bill that a trip to the emergency room would give, then an urgent care medical visit is often the best choice for you. It is always a good idea to partner with your insurance provider to make sure of there are any specific urgent care locations that you need to visit in order to receive insurance coverage.
